The State Department said it was waiting for a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on whether Iran was enriching uranium.
She told a news conference that he was in talks with US allies and partners around the world to stop Iran's influence, stressing that Iran must suspend uranium enrichment.
Iran must be prevented from following any course it has to acquire nuclear weapons, she said.
This comes in response to the announcement by Iran's Atomic Energy Organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi on Tuesday that Tehran had officially informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it was beginning to increase its uranium enrichment capabilities.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Energy Organization spokesman Behruz Kamalundi said Tehran would tell the IAEA to begin increasing its uranium enrichment capability and stressed that Iran could speed up the production of centrifuges used for that purpose.http://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/story/106000/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AC%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%85%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%83%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%86%D9%86%D8%AA%D8%B8%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D9%83%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%84%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9-%D8%A8%D8%B4%D8%A3%D9%86-%D8%A5%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86
