G7 pledges to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons

leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations at the end of their summit pledged to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
The countries pledged in the final statement after the summit , which lasted over two days in La Malba by Quebec to ensure "peaceful" Iranian nuclear program.
For his part, US President Donald Trump said his G7 leaders expressed their commitment to contain Iran's "nuclear ambitions" at their summit in Canada .
"The G7 countries remain committed to controlling Iran's nuclear ambitions," Trump said.
Trump left before the end of the summit, where he will travel to Singapore to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong- un in what he called a "peace mission."
