Saudi Arabia abandons the S400 system due to US pressure

Colonel Constantine Sefkov, vice-president of the Russian Academy of Missile and Missile Sciences, confirmed that Saudi Arabia succumbed to US pressure and abandoned the Russian S-400 system .
"Saudi Arabia has applied for the Russian missile defense system, but it has succumbed to pressure from the United States, which led to its rejection of the deal," Sefkov said in a television interview
" Turkey has also been under pressure from the US administration, but Ankara has decided to get the S400 system," he said.
The Russian colonel pointed out that the American pressure is very effective.
"Turkey has decided to arm its army with the Russian missile system, because it has an old air defense system with a range of only 150 kilometers, so the Turkish General Command decided to rely on the modern Russian system."
On the other hand, Sefkov referred to the issue of a deal of this system with Qatar, pointing out that the matter for Doha is not very important.
"In my opinion, the small size of the Qatari state can only have one battalion of missiles, which means the entry of large areas of Saudi territory within the scope of that battalion, which threatens navigation between the two countries, because the Kingdom has air bases will fall within the system Qatar ".
