The Iraqi academic and researcher in Washington, Haitham al-Hiti, said that the recent results of the elections imposed these alliances, in the absence of any political bloc to win overwhelmingly on the one hand, and the insistence of some political leaders to ditch inside their mother blocks on the other hand.
"This is an imposition imposed on Muqtada al-Sadr, and the main reason is (Prime Minister) Haider al-Abadi, because he refused to leave the Dawa Party, did not establish a national civic bloc and cross-sectarian sectarian, and establish with Sadr a national project."
Abadi leads the "Al-Nasr" coalition, which won the second place with 42 seats. It belongs to the Dawa Party, which has been leading successive Iraqi governments since the elections in Iraq in 2006, following the overthrow of the former Iraqi regime by US-led international forces.

During the recent election campaign, Sadr carried the sword of fighting quotas and corruption.
He said he would work to form a government of technocrats away from quotas based on the distribution of ministerial portfolios to sects and nationalities.
When al-Maliki's coalition briefly joined the al-Amiri alliance ahead of the elections, Sadr commented, "I will support the Iraqi people" with this alliance, which he then described as serving sectarian quotas.
But Sadr put himself in the line of accusations he made yesterday.
