Follow - up / ... The head of Iran 's Atomic Energy Organization , Ali Akbar Salehi, said that the European countries have not taken sufficient steps to protect the nuclear deal after the US withdrawal from it.
The official IRNA agency said Wednesday that Salehi's remarks came during his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterch in the Norwegian capital of Oslo.
Salehi said the proposals made by the European countries participating in the agreement (Britain, Germany and France) did not meet Iran's ambitions.
Salehi called on the United Nations and European countries to take more serious positions to protect the nuclear agreement, noting that his country could not obtain the desired results of the nuclear agreement, due to financial and banking sanctions imposed on Tehran by Washington.
For his part, stressed the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the importance of the nuclear agreement for regional and global stability.
Guterres confirmed that he would continue his talks aimed at maintaining the nuclear agreement with all parties except the United States of America.
On May 8, Trump announced the withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran in 2015 and the reinstatement of economic sanctions against Tehran, citing his decision that "the agreement is bad and has many flaws."
Later, Washington called for a new agreement with Tehran that "deals with all aspects of Iran's destabilizing behavior, including in Yemen and Syria."
It has also set several conditions for this, notably Tehran to disclose to the Nuclear Energy Organization full nuclear program, stop uranium enrichment, and shut down all heavy water reactors.
The conditions included stopping Iran from developing ballistic missiles, refraining from supporting Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, withdrawing its forces from Syria, and ending the threat of eliminating Israel, threatening sea lanes and cyber attacks. Finished
