The head of the border guards, Major General Hamid Abdullah Ibrahim, said in a press statement: "The need to accelerate the completion of this work to be the shield of Iraq in securing its borders against any act of terrorism by a supporter."
"We are doing strategic work like all the countries in the world to protect the border, and the infiltrators, the smugglers and the terrorists will not be able to penetrate our borders in the future."

The Iraqi Border Guard Command announced the end of the work of erecting a metal fence on the Iraqi-Syrian border in preparation for the installation of thermal cameras to reduce the infiltration of terrorists across the border.
