A spokesman for the Central Command of US forces on the statements of Iranian President Hassan Rowhani, which threatened to prevent oil exports from the countries of the region, which was interpreted as a threat to close the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Associated Press, Commander Bill Arben said that US forces and regional allies "are ready to ensure freedom of movement and free trade as permitted by international law."
Iranian President Hassan Rowhani threatened during his visit on the sidelines of his visit to Switzerland, to prevent shipments of oil from neighboring countries if the countries respond to the request of the United States not to buy Iran's oil.
For his part, praised the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasim Soleimani, the statements of Iranian President Hassan Rowhani on the threat of oil exports of the region if the sanctions imposed on the embargo on Iranian oil exports.
In a letter to Rohani, Solaimani said the Revolutionary Guards were ready to implement a policy that would hinder regional oil exports if the United States banned Iranian oil sales.
Another commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards joined on Wednesday a list threatening to prevent the passage of oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.
"Iran will not allow any shipment of oil in the Strait of Hormuz if they want to stop Iranian oil exports," Brigadier General Ismail Kuthari, deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards' Thar Allah base, said in an interview with the Young Correspondents Club.
The US State Department announced days ago that the United States is determined to push Iran to change its behavior by completely halting its oil exports, despite objections from importing countries.
US State Department Policy Director Brian Hook, who runs negotiations with US allies on a new strategy for Iran, said Washington was confident there would be enough oil reserves in the world to dispense with Iranian crude.
