At the press conference held by the two presidents, Putin handed the official football of the 2018 World Cup to Trump, saying: "I will hand you this ball in your hand and now the ball in your court."
The United States will host the World Cup in 2026 after the next tournament in Qatar in 2020.
The US president congratulated his Russian counterpart on the success of the World Cup final over the weekend after Putin gave brief remarks about the tournament at the start of his speech at the press conference.
Trump and Putin discussed the issue of Russia's intervention in the 2016 US presidential election. Trump said: "We have a great campaign and that's why I'm president." The latter stressed that the Russian state never intervened and would not interfere in US domestic affairs.
The US Justice Department has accused 12 Russia, including members of the "GRI" in the investigation of the adviser on the Russian intervention in the US presidential election, "Robert Mueller," on attempts to penetrate the emails of Democrats.
The talks also touched on the need to find a way to reconcile the United States and Russia for peace around the world. The US president said that Washington and Moscow are the two nuclear superpowers and they have 90% of nuclear energy, believing that compatibility with the White Bear country is good and not negative.
Putin said he had exchanged concrete proposals with Trump on relations between the United States and Russia, adding that work would be done together with the nuclear disarmament issue.
They agreed that a solution to the humanitarian crisis was needed in Damascus. Trump stressed their desire to help the Syrian people on a humanitarian basis while Putin demanded the implementation of the 1974 agreement between Israel and Syria on peace in the Golan Heights .
On the level of the Iranian nuclear agreement, Trump stressed the importance of pressure on Iran, while Putin said that the United States is aware of Russia's position on the Iranian nuclear agreement.
The US president announced last May the US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear agreement and the re-imposition of economic sanctions on Tehran.
