    DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Syrian Minister of Transport Ali Hammoud said on Wednesday that his government is seeking to open the border crossing with Jordan after the border area is recovered from criminal groups.
    "The Syrian government has not yet received a request from Jordan to open the conduit," Hamoud was quoted as saying. "The road is ready for operation. In this direction, we are studying the reopening and operation of the crossing."
    "Foreign airlines are interested in resuming flights to Syria and the government has received requests from more than 12 airlines to resume flights to Syria," he said.
    Hamoud pointed out that "foreign countries, which he did not specify, are trying to prevent them from resuming services to Syria under Western sanctions."
    He stressed that "there are several requests from European and Arab companies and we are keen on these companies to reach their goals and we are under the announcement when the arrival of approvals for employment from these countries." Ending / 25
