Iraq and China towards further relations and cooperation
06/8/2018 12:00 am [rtl]Chen Weisheng * I arrived in Baghdad more than two years ago, and when the plane was landing I saw through its window the Tigris River, which I was looking forward to seeing a long time ago. Not far away the Euphrates River, the two great rivers that lay in ancient folds, The two countries have been dealing with the principles of equality, tolerance, mutual benefit, solidarity, mutual trust and cooperation to write a poetic epic of the Silk Road and create an inspiring spirit for generations. In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping initiated an initiative to jointly build the "Belt and Road" (the Silk Road Economic Road and the Silk Road in the 21st Century), which is receiving positive support from Iraq. Three months ago, I met with Chinese Prime Minister Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi, who was visiting China at the time. The Chinese and Iraqi officials participated in drawing up prospects for the development of bilateral relations. The strategic partnership between the two countries and witnessed the signing of documents of cooperation to participate in the construction of «belt and road». As part of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the two countries have witnessed a new development in their mutually beneficial cooperation. Over the past years, China has become Iraq's largest trading partner. Iraq is China's third largest trade partner and fourth largest oil exporter in the world. In the development of oil fields and the construction of the electrical plant in Iraq, electronic products, household electrical appliances and Chinese car brands are used by thousands of households And Iraqi homes. The Chinese recall the sweetness of Iraqi dates, while at the same time releasing the imagination of the legend of Kalgamesh and holding in their hands and reading the Thousand and One Nights. Thousands of years ago, the great Chinese writer Guo Mohe Roh mentioned that the Tang Dynasty of China and the Abbasid Were the summit of world civilizations at the time, and will visit China in the middle of this month a delegation consisting of a number of professors and students from the University of Baghdad to continue the process of cultural exchange between the two countries. Over the past two years since I came to Iraq, I have visited 15 Iraqi provinces, passed through mountains, plains and deserts and entered cities, districts and villages where I have heard only nice and beautiful greetings and thin smiles to show the good feelings of the Iraqi people towards the Chinese people . I visited all Chinese companies operating in Iraq such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China National Building Materials Corporation, Huawei, Shanghai Electric Co., etc. I saw a large number of Chinese and Iraqi staff working side by side, harmonious between Chinese companies and local communities, and lead projects that have been built by Chinese companies have a positive role in the process of reconstruction and development in Iraq, achieving genuine interests of the peoples of the two countries, which makes me feel pleased and Alar Tia. Two months ago, I visited the right side of the city of Mosul. I saw with my own eyes the great destruction that had been inflicted on the city and the psychological damage caused by successive wars on the Iraqi people. Since 2014, China has provided humanitarian aid and reconstruction assistance to Iraq. Spring flowers have also been sent to the people of Umm al-Rabein and other areas affected during the war. Today, Iraq is moving towards stability, reconciliation and reconstruction, so we have to carry the beautiful hope of the Iraqi people as it is said that today's dream is the reality of tomorrow. This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's policy of reform and opening up, so we have the will and ability to work with the international community to support Iraq to maintain its stability and development. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the launching of Sino-Iraqi diplomatic relations, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and great respect to all those who seek to promote China-Iraq friendship. China and Iraq live in the same globe, which has become a small village, and they are in a society of common destiny in which they are inseparable. The Chinese side will continue to support the principle of mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, adhere to the concept of mutual interests and win-win in order to enhance the Sino-Iraqi strategic partnership of relations and deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation between them. We hope that the Chinese and Iraqi sides will join hands.
