Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi attended the 2019 International Industrialization Conference, which began today in the Chinese city of Hebei as a guest of honor at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Qixiang, along with members of the Iraqi delegation of ministers, governors and advisors.
The conference was inaugurated by a speech by the Chinese president on his behalf by the State Counselor, followed by a speech by the head of the ruling party of Hebei Province, who welcomed Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.
The Prime Minister delivered a speech in which he said that "Iraq needs today more than ever to the momentum of its influential Asian and Chinese relations in particular in a direction that restores Iraq to its vital and effective and influential role and to its people and dignified life."
He also announced during his speech the meeting he will meet with the Chinese president and senior government and party leaders, calling on Chinese and international companies to contribute to Iraq's renaissance and rebuilding its infrastructure. He also pledged to ensure that obstacles are overcome through a central committee to secure conditions and opportunities.
He congratulated the People's Republic of China on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.
Before attending the opening of the conference, the premier briefed the exhibition at the convention center accompanied by State Councilor Wang Yong.
The Prime Minister had spoken last night in an interview with the official Iraqi delegation, at the residence, the importance of visiting China and described as articulated and that the preparation was made early and that relations with China wide and the volume of trade exchange amounted to 30 billion dollars annually for the benefit of Iraq, pointing out that Our goal is to develop the infrastructure on which construction and service projects will be based and develop the economy by taking advantage of China's great potential and successful experience.
He stressed that Iraq, which has long suffered from wars and terrorism, is part of the prosperous east and has historically had excellent relations with China and India as well, pointing to his meeting with Indian officials, which resulted in an agreement to activate the work of the Iraqi-Indian Committee.
He added that our visit to China is successful by achieving a deliberate and scheduled partnership agreement and clear financing and what is achieved from the export of Iraq more than 700 thousand barrels of oil per day and the joint fund with China, which constitute a guarantee and a solid basis for this partnership and the development of infrastructure projects and all other vital sectors, and that Iraq takes He called on the official delegation to work in a team spirit during meetings and dialogues with their counterparts in the Chinese side and to develop urban and service projects in all governorates.
