The assassination and kidnapping of militants also comes as a new terrorist tactic, where Suad al-Ali was assassinated in a city shot by gunmen.
A security official reported that "Ali" was killed by gunmen who fled the scene after shooting at her and her husband while they were inside their car.
Suad immediately breathed her last breath, while her husband was injured and was being treated at a hospital.
The assassination - the first of its kind since protests broke out this summer - took place in the Abbasiya district of central Basra.
Observers pointed to the attempts to threaten and intimidation and punctuation began to widen significantly after the demonstrations of civil and popular movement in Basra.
The incident comes one day after the abduction of the activist and doctor Hajar Yousef, who was participating in the demonstrations in Basra and provide aid to demonstrators in the province.
A security source said that "an armed group kidnapped the activist and doctor Hajar Yusuf from the field of Basra, after beating and loss of consciousness."
