Two former ministers confirmed Tuesday that the next year's budget passed by a simple majority in the former cabinet headed by the government of Haider Abadi.
"The budget for the next year passed through the Council of Ministers by a simple majority," Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani and Mohammad Iqbal said during their swearing-in ceremony at the House of Representatives session.
They added that they "did not agree with the budget formula in its current form."
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives is currently discussing the draft budget law next year, and the MPs are likely to return to the new cabinet headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi for review.
