US President Donald Trump has announced that Beijing has agreed to "reduce and eliminate" tariffs on imported cars from the United States.
"China has agreed to reduce and abolish tariffs on imported cars to China from the US The current fees are now 40 percent," Trump wrote in a small blog on Twitter.
In a related context, Chinese state media reported on Monday that the truce agreed by China and the United States in their trade war over the weekend could help them resolve their differences amicably, but added that a lasting improvement in relations depends on the "sincerity" of the United States.
China and the United States agreed to stop imposing new tariffs during talks between US presidents Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Argentina on Saturday after months of escalating tensions over trade and other issues.
The United States agreed not to raise tariffs on January 1, while China agreed to immediately buy agricultural products from US farmers.
The two sides also agreed to start discussions on how to resolve issues of concern to countries, including intellectual property protection, non-tariff trade barriers and electronic theft. Finished
