NEW YORK (Reuters) - The US military may find itself suffering from a shortage of recruits due to a decline in the number of physically fit and ongoing wars of the United States, a new board member of the Armed Services Committee warned on Thursday.
"The group of potential recruits to the armed forces can be expanded by finding a large number of young people who are obese and therefore non-citizens and transgender immigrants can be allowed into the military," the Chicago Sun-Times reported in its report on the Dow.
"Recent Pentagon data show that only 29 percent of young Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are considered fit for military service, while the other 71 have failed math and basic English tests, were physically unable or prevented from joining because of Crimes involving substance abuse or opium addiction ".
"The US military failed to achieve the goal of recruitment last year for the first time since the height of the war in Iraq, while Dakworth said that" and with fewer people being recruited over the years, we must celebrate every person serving in the army. "
Sen. Dakworth of Illinois is a veteran and lost her legs and one arm when her Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Iraq in 2004. Ending / 25 z
