The Central Bank of Iraq, on Wednesday, it is the only body responsible for the banking sector, pointing out that it has the power to monitor and audit the work and records of banks.
"The Central Bank of Iraq is the only authority that has the authority to take all measures to regulate the work of banks and non-bank financial institutions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations," the Central Bank of Iraq said in a letter addressed to the Interior Ministry and signed the governor of Al-Alaq. , Pointing out that the Central Bank has the power to monitor and audit the work and records of banks.
The Minister of the Interior said: "Please kindly refer to all your departments and directorates that you should not conduct visits and check the special records of banks and financial institutions except in exceptional cases permitted by law and based on a judicial decision and in coordination with the Central Bank."
