A member of the parliamentary legal committee, MP for the Kurdish component Salim Hamza, on Thursday, that Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has the legal authority to choose the Kurdish personality, which finds suitable for the portfolio of the Ministry of Justice where the post is not limited to a particular party, pointing out that the controversy over the post of Justice Ministry will be resolved During the next week.
"The Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has the legal authority to grant the Ministry of Justice to any Kurdish figure finds it suitable for this position, being not confined to a particular party," Hamza said in a statement.
"The prime minister has announced from the outset his intention to come with competent and independent personalities to make ministerial portfolios, and therefore the choice of ministers should be in accordance with the criteria set by the prime minister, especially with regard to the Ministry of Justice where you need an efficient and independent person away from party affiliations."
Hamza said that "the two Kurdish parties, the National Union and the Democratic agreed on the formation of the Kurdistan government, and the selection of the Minister of Justice linked to the formation of the provincial government and therefore the position of justice will be resolved during the next week."
