[size=18]Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban said on Sunday that Iraq is seeking to stabilize the oil market, noting that the global oil market will be reviewed and evaluated at the Saudi meeting.

"Iraq is keen to achieve more stability and balance of the oil market," Ghadhban said during a visit to Saudi Arabia to take part in a meeting of the ministerial committee to monitor production in Jeddah in a statement received by Alsumaria News.

"The meeting aims to review and assess the global oil market after the agreement to reduce production adopted by the members of the Organization" OPEC "and its allies," adding that "after hearing the reports of the relevant committees in this regard, will be the appropriate recommendations to the ministerial meeting to be held In Vienna next June. "

For his part, spokesman for the Ministry of Oil Assem Jihad said that "the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and the Minister of Oil and his accompanying delegation had a meeting with Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Faleh, along with a number of officials in a number of ministries and companies in Saudi Arabia."

Jihad pointed out that "the meeting was to follow up some important files that have been agreed recently by the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council and the activation of agreements and memorandums of understanding and hard work to turn them into reality."

Prices have received support from efforts led by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other countries under the alliance known as OPEC to reduce 1.2 million barrels per day of oil, in a strategy aimed at reducing supply to markets.
