The parliamentary bloc announced on Wednesday, submitted a formal request to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, to extend the second legislative term.
"In view of the importance of the Iraqi phase and the presence of a number of important and necessary bills under implementation, and towards the end of the second legislative term, the Sawsan Alliance submitted a formal request to the parliament," MP Hamdallah Al-Rikabi said in a statement received by Mawazine News. The Presidency of the House of Representatives in favor of a number of signatures of members of the Council demanding the extension of the second legislative term in accordance with Article (58) of the Constitution.
He called on all members of the House of Representatives to "vote in favor of the request, believing in their importance and a sense of responsibility entrusted to them and in order to play their legislative and supervisory role to serve Iraq and its people."
