Iran's re-election of al-Maliki: satisfied with his success

(Reuters) - Iran expressed "satisfaction" with the re-election of Nuri al-Maliki as secretary-general of the Islamic Dawa party.
On Saturday, the Islamic Dawa party in Iraq re-elected Nuri al-Maliki as secretary-general of the party during the party elections held in the southern Iraqi province of Kerbala during elections that had been nominated by well-known leaders, except for his current secretary-general.
Maliki served as prime minister between 2006 and 2014.
"I express my pride and satisfaction at your success in holding the General Conference and your re-election, almost unanimously by the vote, as Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party," Iran's ambassador to Baghdad, Erej Musjidi, said in a letter to Maliki.
