Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq disclosed, on Monday, its steps regarding the file of international election monitoring.
A statement by the Commission, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, stated that "the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, received today, today, a delegation from the advanced cadre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which included the Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Qahtan Al-Janabi and Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences Abbas Kazem Obaid."
Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf explained, during the meeting, the efforts made by the Commission in communicating with important international organizations at the world level, to ensure the success of the international monitoring file for the elections on October 10, led by the United Nations through its mission in Baghdad, which accompanied all the preparations The electoral process, as well as the European Union delegation whose exploratory delegation visited the headquarters of the Commission a few days ago.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners praised "the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has shown great keenness on its part to facilitate everything the Electoral Commission needs, in all stages and joints related to the elections."
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qahtan Al-Janabi, affirmed his ministry's keenness to "facilitate the work of international observers, because of the importance of holding these elections in an atmosphere that enjoys the confidence of the Iraqi voter and send a message to the world that they were conducted according to transparent principles and standards."
For his part, the head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Abbas Kazem Obaid, praised what the Electoral Commission has worked on in terms of communication with international organizations and countries of the world that are interested in holding the Iraqi elections in a fair and sober manner.
