The US Defense and Security Committee on Thursday prevented the US embassy in Baghdad from collecting parliamentary signatures to re-investigate Anbar's operations chief Lieutenant General Mahmoud al-Falahi.
Committee member Karim al-Mohammadawi said in a statement to the information, that "the American pressure exerted towards the government and the House of Representatives has reached the acquittal of the farmer and not to investigate him," pointing out that "the US Embassy is working hard to prevent the House of Representatives collect signatures to re-investigate with the farmer."
He added that "the House of Representatives will fail to re-investigate with the peasant because of the presence of a large number of its members complied with the pressure of the embassy," noting that "those pressures proved that the peasant involved in the intelligence and betrayal of the military."
