[/ltr]Three senior US officials described any military attack against Iran as a tragedy and said Iran had superior military capabilities and was influential in the Middle East.

Former US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hegel describes the attack on three Iranian sites as a type of gambling, adding that it would not be a single attack or two, but a heavy response from Iran should be expected. We remember in the past we were also superior to the military forces that the regime of Saddam Hussein had, but nevertheless we lost more than 4,000 US military personnel.
Regarding Iran's military capabilities, Hegel said: "They have a variety of weapons. In addition, they have their own people and their weapons. Moreover, they have Shiite militias, Hezbollah has a credible force, and a decentralized organized army."
Hegel stressed that the issue of Iran has only one solution, namely the international diplomatic solution.
Pentagon spokesman Admiral John Kirby said Iran had one of the eight military powers in the world and that its military capabilities should be taken seriously.
"If there is a confrontation with Iran, I expect that no one will come out. I mean, we will lose part of our military forces, ships and military bases, as well as our aircraft carriers. This is for the United States.
"Of course the Iranians will also lose the victims," he said.
Kirby also criticized remarks by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Council adviser John Bolton, who stressed the overthrow of the Iranian regime.
As for retired US Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson and former Secretary of State Colin Powell's office, he said: "Iran has 80 million souls and its mountains, known as Zakaros, are different from the desert of Iraq, which we have been constantly bombarding."
"If the war breaks out, it will erupt more broadly in the whole region, but he also criticized American behavior," he said, noting that Washington is not detracted from the lessons of the past and even though the fabricated propaganda is the same as Washington's toward Tehran. I say that America does not have the ability to replace the lessons of the past and learn from its mistakes.
