    Information / Special…
Al-Fateh MP Ali al-Ghanmi said on Wednesday that the investment law has hampered the implementation of the largest housing project to build residential complexes in the areas of the Baghdad belt.
Al-Ghanmi said in a statement to the information, that "the Turkish side offered the Iraqi government an investment project to build housing complexes in the areas of the Baghdad belt at a cost of three billion dollars," pointing out that "obstacles to the investment law hindered the implementation of the project."
He added that "the project aims to build housing units in the areas of the Baghdad belt to resolve the growing housing crisis in the center of Baghdad," noting that "the investment law needs important amendments to protect the investor and bring it to the country."
The Baghdad Investment Commission, earlier, has achieved 50 percent of its investment plan for the housing sector, while noting the need for the capital to one million housing units.
