    (Baghdad: Euphrates News) MP for a coalition of state law Mansour al-Baiji, on Wednesday, that the House of Representatives will work to provide all legal procedures to facilitate the purchase of advanced Russian air defense missile system.
    "The United States is not the guardian of Iraq, and the Iraqi government has the freedom to choose the country from which it wants to buy weapons or equip them with any defense system for Iraq and we will not accept any pressure to exert on Iraq," he said in a statement received by the Euphrates News agency.
    He added that "Iraq is a free country and not a mandate of the United States or any other country and should be aware of this matter well and will not accept any external intervention to impose a certain will on Iraq, especially in the file of armament and no country has the right to recognize the file to arm Iraq or buy its defense system."
    He pointed out that "Parliament will work during the next legislative term to put forward the law of the removal of foreign forces in addition to providing all the appropriate atmosphere and procedures to arm the country and protect it from any external aggression."
