Integrity seizes corruption cases worth 400 billion dinars in one month

The Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission revealed that its directorates and investigation offices carried out a number of seizures in Baghdad and the governorates during the month of November 2019.
The department said, according to a statement of the Integrity Commission, today, Sunday, that during the month 34 seizures took place, in which the corruption values amounted to more than 400 billion dinars.
And the department added that a smuggling artifact of $ 200 million was held in the possession of 6 accused in Dhi Qar, which is the most prominent of these operations.
The department added, that among the operations is the seizure of materials that do not conform to specifications that were contracted under 13 contracts worth $ 80.1 million in Basra Oil Company, pointing out that all the dues of suppliers have been paid since 2012.
She continued: In addition to the Kirkuk governor distributing 25 billion dinars of funds for projects to preserve the owners of companies with whom he has personal and partisan relations, and the existence of violations in implementation and disbursement, and disbursing huge sums of money as hospitality for the province’s office.
The department confirmed that the Director of the Sunni Endowment in Nineveh and a number of employees appointed more than 250 employees of their male and female relatives as a (guardian), and that he deducted sums from the salaries of those who were appointed without the formation of an accounting committee, knowing that not all of those appointed were Their business.
The Investigation Department indicated that both the Kirkuk and Karbala investigation offices carried out 6 operations out of a total of 34 operations, pointing out that those operations resulted in the arrest of 25 accused, the highest percentage of whom were in Nineveh, as they reached 7 accused.
