Economist Qusai Safwan said on Thursday that the value of taxes imposed on telecommunications companies, which amounted to 15%, amounts to $ 400 million annually, pointing out that abolishing this tax is a waste of public money.
Safwan said in a statement to "Information", that "the process of verifying revenue in telecommunications companies takes place after making calls and sending messages, because the process of selling the shipping card does not mean achieving revenue for the communication companies."
He added, "Recovering the citizen's right to taxes paid by the consumer to telecommunications companies, these companies must provide a service to consumers by reducing the prices of calls or providing special offers as compensation, especially as the consumer is the one who pays the tax imposed on telecommunications companies."
And that "the supervisory authorities should exercise their role regarding the taxation of citizens by telecommunications companies."
He explained that "the freight card tax is 15% and the amount of revenue generated from these taxes amounts to $ 400 million per year, and therefore reducing or eliminating these taxes is a waste of public money." 25 n ended
