    On Wednesday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs set registration controls for motor vehicles for people with disabilities and special needs.
    Issam Abdel Latif Mohamed, head of the Ministry of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs in the Ministry, said in a statement seen by "Kham", that "the authority set the controls for registration mechanisms for persons with disabilities and people with special needs on imported imported vehicles, which are determined according to the needs of this segment."
    Muhammad added, “The commission determined the ability of people with disabilities and special needs to obtain (modified) cars by the committee formed in this regard, after reviewing the rehabilitation centers for the disabled in Baghdad and the various provinces of the country, in order to register in the program prepared by them and send it in an official letter to the committee The medical specialist in order to determine the type of disability and the percentage of disability, in addition to the extent of his need for a modified vehicle, provided that he has completed 18 years of age, as well as controls based on what proves that he has a disability and special needs.
    Muhammad added that "the controls also determined that the percentage of the deficit in the medical committee's decision not be less than 50 percent, and the extent of his need for a modified vehicle with special specifications," noting "the specifications of the imported car, that it must be of a type (a private salon), with an engine of its capacity (Four-cylinder), with five seats with the driver, and that it is of type (two-wheel drive) exclusively and modified from origin. ”
    He pointed out, "The ability of people with disabilities to purchase the modified vehicle from the Ministry of Trade through the General Company for Automobile Trade affiliated with it, or from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, from the General Company for the manufacture of cars in it, or by importing it from the person provided that it is the year of manufacture in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 432 For the year 2012, as it works to equip cars according to the modification models prepared by it, according to the special specifications that are compatible with the type of disability, and according to specific codes. ”
    The Chairman of the Disabled and Special Needs Authority stated that his department “allowed persons with disabilities and special needs to enjoy the privilege of importing and registering a modified vehicle that is exempt from all customs taxes and fees, in addition to allowing those with special needs to import cars with appropriate specifications to describe them (modified cars), by exempting them From Tarqeen, registration of an old car against a modern one. ”
    Muhammad stressed that "the one who gets the car has the right to sell it only after five years have passed since the date of its registration, stating that this will be marked in the electronic registration within the system of the national project, and in the event that the disabled wants to sell his car within five years, the content of the text of Article 18 is implemented From the Law for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs No. 38 of 2013, by paying all fees and taxes.
    He pointed out that "the person wishing to obtain the modified vehicle must have a driving license for the disabled according to the instructions and controls approved in the Traffic Directorate, and the General Customs Authority will inspect the imported cars for the account of persons with disabilities and special needs, to ensure that they are modified cars in the light of the operative license of import, After it is provided with the modification forms and technical specifications mentioned in the law
