The head of the Social Authority at the Ministry of Labor, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, confirmed on Sunday that the scholarship for school students will be disbursed next week retroactively for the months of last October and November.
Al-Moussawi said in statements, followed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “the student grant exceeds 135 billion dinars and it was not possible to disburse it manually. Therefore, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, during his recent visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, directed that the grant be disbursed via electronic payment cards to the heads of the families of the included students.” ;.
He added, “The grant will be disbursed next week to 1,850,000 students, retroactively for the months of October and November, after making use of the electronic system of the Social Protection Authority.”
He explained that “inclusion in the scholarship does not require any endorsement, but rather the names must be ready and registered with the Ministry of Education, and those included in the Social Protection Authority whose name is not included in the lists can visit the school in which their children study to register the name.”
The head of the Social Protection Authority pointed out, “The disbursement of a grant to university students covered by social protection amounted to 72 billion dinars.”
