Member of the Parliamentary Defense Committee, Mahdi Taqi Amerli, confirmed on Monday that there are movements of some political figures to maintain the American military presence in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , indicating that the House of Representatives rejects any political moves that would extend the American presence.
"There are a number of political figures who believe that their presence is linked to the presence of the occupying forces and that they will lose what they got after the occupation came out," Emerli said in a statement to "The Information."

And Amerli warned that "the presence of the American occupation will lead to political rivalry and instability," stressing "the need to work to get the occupier out."
