Deputies favored the survival of the Ministers of Defense and Interior in Allawi's government

A member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, MP Abdul Khaleq Al-Azzawi, suggested that the interior and defense ministers remain in their positions in the Allawi government.
Al-Azzawi said in a press statement: "It is possible for the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and defense ministers to remain in their posts under the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, but the decision depends on the latter to keep them or not," stressing: "The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee will not impose any names."
He added: "All deputies with the principle that the next cabinet ministers are technocrats and talented people, their goal is the interest of the country and not the interest of political blocs."
