The deputy of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Tala Talabani, revealed that Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi refused to receive the name of any candidate, even if he was independent, by the Kurdish parties during his last meeting with them.
Talabani said in a press statement: "Allawi refused, during his meeting with the Kurdish blocs, to receive any names of candidates for ministerial positions in his government, even if they are independent and from technocrats," noting that he promised to choose independent Kurdish names to fill ministerial positions that are of a share Kurdish component.
She added: "The two main Kurdish parties (the National and Democratic Union) rejected Allawi's proposal to submit names from him to fill the ministerial positions related to the Kurdish component."
