Baghdad / ... Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zarfi met, on Saturday, the ambassadors of European Union countries accredited in Baghdad, while informing them of his government's "priorities" and paths of formation.

The media office of the Prime Minister-designate stated in a statement received by "Eye of Iraq News" that "at the beginning of the meeting, Al-Zarfi expressed his condolences to all European countries that daily lose hundreds of their citizens due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic," declaring "his sympathy for the families of the victims in the countries of the Union Which has always stood with Iraq on many urgent and crucial issues. "

The statement added, "Al-Zrafi reviewed the size of the risks facing Iraq, the countries of the region and the world, in light of the fears caused by the spread of the epidemic, and the repercussions of it that paralyzed the global economy and market."

Al-Zrafi warned of "the serious risks left by the decline in world oil prices," stressing "his confidence in Iraq’s ability to overcome the new crisis because it possesses the wealth that compensates it for the losses, provided that an efficient government administration is available."

Al-Zorfi briefed the "ambassadors on the paths of forming his government," stressing that "his government's priorities are to meet the demands of the peaceful movement to hold free and fair early elections, to confront the possible financial and economic collapse, and to work to reduce the level of poverty in the country, restore civil peace, and extend the rule of law."

The statement pointed out that "the ambassadors expressed their wishes for Iraq to restore its health and achieve the desired stability, and for the Prime Minister-designate to accomplish his mission in order to meet the aspirations of the people, and enhance the status of Iraq in the usual region and the world."

"The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, Greece, Poland, Croatia, the European Union mission, and a representative of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the statement said. Finished 2
