US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke about the latest developments in the political and security situation in Iraq
At a press conference, he said that the United States proposed conducting a strategic dialogue with Iraq to discuss the future of the US military presence there.
On the political issue, he pointed out that Washington supports any Iraqi prime minister who wants to advance his country, expressing at the same time his fear that there is a party that wants to impose certain names.
He added that the Hezbollah Brigades cannot impose the next prime minister on the Iraqi people, stressing that the opinion of the Iraqi people is important to Washington in this regard, and not the position of Hezbollah, as he put it.
