The ministry said in a statement that "People" received a copy (March 6, 2021): "The Ministry of Agriculture expresses its strong condemnation of the news of a reduction in support for farmers and farmers, issued from the halls of the House of Representatives," indicating that "the procedure is frustrating for agricultural work, especially what it is witnessing." Markets provide various agricultural crops, despite the circumstances of the Corona pandemic, as well as the country's need for hard currency due to the financial crisis that has cast a shadow over the economic reality and the need for concerted efforts to develop and support the local product, which necessitates increasing the support provided to farmers, livestock and poultry breeders, and various agricultural businesses, in order to provide security. Food for the citizen. "
The statement added, "These measures aimed at reducing the support to farmers are illogical because Iraq is an agricultural country and enjoys a privileged position in this field for the region and the world. The Ministry of Agriculture has demanded, on various occasions, to increase the support provided to farmers in terms of fertilizers and seeds, agricultural mechanization and logistical support," To raise the level of the agricultural sector, in both its plant and animal parts.
He explained, "The Ministry of Agriculture considers this news frustrating to farmers and farmers, and leads to adverse reactions such as a reluctance to agricultural work, and an increase in migration from the countryside to the city, as well as that this measure comes at a time when Iraq has achieved sufficiency in various agricultural crops, and exports a number of them." Outside the country, to support the state treasury, absorb unemployment, and employ the rural community, because agriculture is the only source of their livelihood and running their affairs.
The statement pointed out, "The Ministry of Agriculture will not stand idly by, but rather will demand an increase in the subsidy and not cancel it through all official means, for the purpose of reviewing the material and moral harm that befalls the farmer."
