The Integrity Commission announced, on Monday, that it has arrested a number of people accused of setting up extortion checkpoints and others by suspending illegal transactions in Nineveh Governorate.
In a statement received by Mawazine News / a copy of it, the Investigation Department stated that “the Nineveh Investigation Directorate team was able to arrest (4) employees of the Northern Region Customs - Nineveh, for setting up control to inspect the wheels of pregnancy without a legal capacity, providing On blackmailing wheel drivers and forcing them to pay sums of money, "pointing out that" they violated Cabinet Resolution No. (13 of 2019). "
The statement added, "In a separate operation, the team that moved to the right-hand Nineveh tax, arrested two defendants, for pursuing unauthorized and unlawful transactions inside it, and the process resulted in seizing a number of transactions in their possession."
He affirmed, “The two arrest warrants were organized by fundamentalists, and they were presented with the accused and the seized persons to the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is specialized in issues of integrity, who decided to arrest the arrested suspects in the two operations in accordance with the provisions of Article 307 of the Penal Code.” Ended 6/29
