The Parliamentary Legal Committee clarified, on Wednesday, the nature of the differences about religious and Sharia jurists in the Federal Court, pointing out that some opinions have gone towards relying on these people for advisory matters only.
A member of the committee, Salim Hamza, told "the information", that "there are many opinions within the House of Representatives about the presence of Sharia jurists in the Federal Court, where opinions went about giving them an advisory role and not voting in the court."
He added, "The other opinion inside the House of Representatives went towards giving greater freedom to experts and scholars of Islamic law inside the Federal Court by giving them the role in considering appeals in matters related to Islamic law as well as voting on them."
Hamza pointed out that "minorities in the House of Representatives demanded that the Presidency of the Council be law experts in the Federal Court of Turkmen and Christians in exchange for the presence of experts of Islamic law in the court." End / 25 n
