[size=45]Yesterday, Monday, the Supreme Judicial Council announced the completion of the new formation of the Federal Supreme Court after the names were submitted to the President of the Republic to issue a republican decree appointing them, according to a statement received by (Al-Mada).[/size]
[size=45]The following are the names and addresses of the members.[/size]
[size=45]01 Judge Jassim Muhammad Abboud, Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority as Chief of the Court[/size]
[size=45]02 Judge Samir Abbas - President of the Anbar Criminal Court as Vice President of the Court[/size]
[size=45]03 Judge Ghalib Amer - President of the Wasit Court of Appeal as an original member of the court[/size]
[size=45]04 Judge Haydar Jaber - President of the Najaf Appeals Court as an original member of the court[/size]
[size=45]05 Judge Dr. Haider Ali Nuri - Judicial supervisor as an original member of the court[/size]
[size=45]06 Judge Khalaf Ahmad Rajab - President of the Cassation Commission at the Presidency of the Salah El-Din Court of Appeal, as an original member of the court[/size]

[size=45]About a week ago, the Supreme Judicial Council announced the selection of the new formation of the Federal Supreme Court. He said that he would be sent to the Presidency of the Republic to issue the appointment decree. The Judicial Council selected Jassim Muhammad Abboud to the position of President of the Court, and Samir Abbas as the Vice President of the Court. A statement issued by the Council, a copy of which (Al-Mada) received at the time, stated that “the judges whose positions are stipulated in Article 3 / Second of the Law of the First Amendment to Order (30) of 2005 (Federal Supreme Court Law) held a meeting on 3/24 / 2021: It included the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, the President of the Federal Supreme Court Medhat Al-Mahmoud, the Chief Public Prosecutor, Salem Muhammad Noori, and the Head of the Judicial Oversight Authority Jassim Muhammad Aboud.[/size]
[size=45]According to the statement, "the president, vice president and a number of members of the Federal Supreme Court were chosen, origin and reserve," adding that "the new composition of the court will be sent to the President of the Republic to issue a republican decree appointing them to their posts."[/size]
[size=45]He said that subsequent deliberations will be held during the coming days to select the remaining members. The House of Representatives approved the law amending the Federal Supreme Court Law No. 30 of 2005 on (March 18, 2021). The amendment stipulated that the text of Article (3) of the Federal Supreme Court Law be repealed and replaced by the following:[/size]
[size=45]Article 3 - First: A: The Federal Supreme Court consists of a president, a vice president, and seven original members, to be chosen from among the judges of the first category who are continuing in service and whose actual service in the judiciary is no less than (15) fifteen years.[/size]
[size=45]B - The court has four part-time reserve members who are selected from among the judges of the first class who are continuing with their service and whose actual service in the judiciary is no less than (15) fifteen years. Second: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, the President of the Supreme Federal Court, the President of the Public Prosecution Service, and the head of the Judicial Oversight Authority, shall choose the president of the court, his deputy and members from among the judges nominated, with the regions represented in the formation of the court, and their names shall be submitted to the President of the Republic to issue a republican decree of appointment within a maximum period (15) Fifteen days from the date of their choice[/size]
