Monthly stipends 209,000 free lecturers are expected after the budget is approved

Baghdad / Khader Elias Nahed
Late yesterday, the House of Representatives referred the 2021 Budget Law to the Presidency of the Republic for approval after including the free lecturers in the contract clause.
And the Presidency of Parliament published the letter of referral attached to it, signed by the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives.
An informed parliamentary source told Al-Mada that about 209 thousand free lecturers will receive a salary according to the copy of the budget that was sent to the Presidency of the Republic for approval.
The deputy, who refused to be named, explained that the lecturers are contracted with the Ministry of Education, so knowing their numbers is not an impossible task.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education did not contract with free lecturers during the past year due to the suspension of studies and the lack of need for them.
He pointed out that the contractors ’wages will be spent out of the 900 billion dinars fixed in the budget, and that 250,000 dinars may be disbursed to each contractor monthly.
For his part, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mahmoud Al-Shabky, said in a statement to (the extent), "The President of the Republic has thirty days to ratify the law, and if this period passes, the law will be considered ratified."
"The delay in sending the law is due to listening to and unpacking the recordings of the voting session, as that session witnessed many amendments," Al-Shibky added.
He pointed out, "The law, after its approval, will be transferred to publication in the Official Gazette, after which instructions for implementing the budget will be issued."
In addition, Badr Al-Ziyadi, a member of the House of Representatives from the Saeron coalition, said that the government had refused to include the appointments in the draft budget for 2021.
Al-Ziyadi said, "The government did not agree to allocate grades for permanent appointments in the federal budget for 2021, neither sooner nor from afar."
Al-Ziyadi said, "We would like to allocate job grades for graduates, and we also asked for the return of those whose contracts had been canceled from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, but the government refused."
It is noteworthy that Al-Ziyadi stated on Sunday (April 4, 2021) that “after the President of the Republic ratifies the Federal Budget Law for 2021, the allocated budget funds will be sent to the share of the Kurdistan region and the rest of the Iraqi provinces.”
On the 31st of last month, the House of Representatives voted on the budget bill after four months of discussions.
