    Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, held an expanded meeting on the draft law on recovering corruption proceeds.
    The media office of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement, "The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, held an expanded meeting on the draft law on recovering corruption proceeds, in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, the heads of the Parliamentary Integrity, Financial and Legal Committees, the Head of the Public Prosecution Authority, and the Head of the Integrity Commission." and Chairman of the Board of Financial Supervision.
    The President of the Republic said, according to the statement, that "the draft law for the recovery of corruption proceeds is a step that complements the basic role of the efforts of state institutions and the integration and coordination of roles and coordination between them in combating corruption and recovering the proceeds of corruption."
    He added, "It includes proactive measures aimed at preventing corruption, and subsequent measures that work to recover corruption funds and revenues, and to benefit from successful international experiences in combating corruption."

    The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, announced today, Wednesday, that the money recovery law will give the regulatory and executive authorities broader powers to hold the spoilers accountable and prosecute the smuggled funds.
    Al-Kaabi's media office said in a statement received by the news agency, "The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, attended with the heads and members of the parliamentary committees (integrity, financial, legal) the expanded meeting that was held today, at the Peace Palace under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to discuss a project The Law (Recovering Corruption Proceeds), which will be concerned with recovering Iraqi funds from the corrupt inside and outside Iraq
    During the meeting, which was also attended by the head and members of the Public Prosecution, the Head of the Integrity Commission, the President of the Financial Supervision Bureau, and advisors to the Presidency of the Republic, Al-Kaabi stressed the "importance of the aforementioned law and the speedy enactment of it and the legislation of all laws that would strengthen the work mechanisms of the supervisory and executive authorities and give them broader powers and legal force in holding corrupters accountable, no matter It was the party behind them, as well as the powers to act in pursuit of looted funds inside and outside Iraq, most of which came as a result of the policies of previous and failed governments, which exposed public money to waste, looting and loss, and helped and contributed to many corrupt people to get rich quickly without reason at the expense of the deprived Iraqi people, who long-awaited for a decent living.
