The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced, on Sunday, the discussion of a new mechanism for licensing Iraqi airports.
A statement by the authority, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, stated that "the head of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, Nael Saad Abdul Hadi, met today with the directors of Iraqi airports about the nature of the new procedures for licensing Iraqi airports operating in the country."
And the Assistant Director-General for Iraqi Airports Affairs, Ali Muhammad Taqi, said during the meeting that "the Civil Aviation Authority is committed to implementing all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization lCAO."
He added, "This comes in preparation for the audit program (USOAP) prepared by the authority for the purpose of preparing airports and their work within the internationally established contexts." Ended 29/A 43
