, the representative of the Al-Sadiqoon bloc, Ahmed Al-Kinani, confirmed, on Wednesday, that corruption, mismanagement of resources and the absence of government plans are behind the high rates of poverty in the country. Al-Kinani said, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the prime minister bears full responsibility for what the economic conditions will lead to on the segment of the poor and the toiling."
He added that "poverty in Iraq is caused by the mismanagement of the country's resources, the absence of a real vision, in addition to the deliberate wasting of citizen's rights," explaining that "the significant increase in poverty rates during the recent period as a result of the destruction of economic projects in addition to the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar."
