Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein assured his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, that Iraq would continue its efforts and initiatives aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
This came during a meeting that brought them together in the Serbian capital Belgrade, on the sidelines of the First Conference of Non-Aligned Countries. During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and political developments in the region were discussed. The Iraqi Foreign Minister briefed on the progress of the electoral process in Iraq, adding that it proceeded safely and democratically. .
