The Turkish Embassy in Baghdad has warned of frauds affecting Iraqis while receiving Turkish visa applications, alerting to dealing with fake offices.
The embassy said in a statement, today (November 6, 2021), that "we would like to remind once again that Gateway Management and Logistics Inc. is the only intermediary institution that has been transferred by our embassy to receive Turkish visa applications (Visa) by citizens of the Republic of Iraq." The visa can be submitted through the 10 Gateway offices located in Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Kirkuk, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk and Zakho.
She added, "It is important not to adopt so-called travel agencies other than "Gateway" that claim to receive visa applications, especially fake ads on social media, and it is understood that the mentioned agencies, which have nothing to do with our embassy, cheat Iraqi citizens through the exorbitant prices they ask for. ".
And she added, "Our embassy will file a criminal complaint with the relevant Iraqi authorities regarding the agencies that will be found to have posted false advertisements. As for the people who will be found to be trying to apply through these advertisements, they may be subject to a ban on entry to Turkey that will be presented to the Iraqi public opinion with importance."
