Najaf Governorate revealed, on Wednesday, the most prominent of what was agreed upon regarding the project to create the old municipality of Najaf and its urban renewal during the visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his meeting with the directors of service departments in the city.

Three main points were taken, the first of which is urban renewal of the city."
He continued, "This task was initially referred to the company (Diwan Al-Amarah) in 2010, and there are observations in which the privacy of the old city should be taken into account, and a decision was issued during today's meeting that the Central Bank contract with a consulting office for a specialized international company to discuss what was reached by the company. And coordination with a committee concerned from the advisory body in the Prime Minister’s Office with the governorate, the Najaf homes of the ancient governorate’s families and religious activities that have knowledge and perception of the Najaf wall and the city to discuss what can be preserved from the current assets and possible changes.
He added, "The second point that was made is related to the creation of the old municipality of Najaf by achieving positive points to increase revenues and human resources and deal with guests and tourists.
