The representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Al-Ziyadi, criticized, on Tuesday, the “electrical linkage” project between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, while stressing that the coming days will expose the beneficiaries of this project.
Al-Ziyadi told the "Information" agency, "The file of the Iraqi-Saudi electrical connection was made by a political decision and its deportation was also political, and it would take a long time if it was implemented," noting that "the Iraqi people need instant solutions to the electricity file."
He added, "The next few days will reveal to the Iraqi street the political extent and dimensions of this project, and will expose the beneficiaries of it."
Iraq and Saudi Arabia officially signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of electrical interconnection. The signing took place between the Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Adel Karim and the Saudi Energy Minister, Abdulaziz bin Salman, via an open television circuit, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi.
