The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath Al-Sorji, confirmed, on Saturday, that the corruption files surrounding the Democratic candidate for the presidency, Hoshyar Zebari, will prevent him from obtaining the position of president.
Sorji said in a radio interview, which was followed by "Mawazine News", that "everyone who goes to the democratic process must believe in winning and losing."
He pointed to "the existence of files of administrative and financial corruption on the Democratic candidate, Hoshyar Zebari," explaining that "several former and current deputies had previously submitted complaints or challenges to his integrity."
Sorji pointed out that "the President of the Republic must be impartial and not have legal and administrative violations," noting that "the National Union relies on free will, conscience, conscience and the constitutional oath by which the members of the House of Representatives swore to return any person who is dishonest and does not meet the conditions for the presidency." He indicated that "there is a state of optimism for the election of the National Union candidate, Barham Salih, for a second presidential term." Ended 29/A 4
