[size=45]The Italian ambassador to Baghdad, Maurizio Cricante, announced on Thursday that the volume of trade exchange between his country and Iraq amounted to five million euros, expressing Italy's desire to expand cooperation between the two sides in various trade and economic fields.[/size]
[size=45]In his speech today, during his hosting of a symposium held in Erbil, the ambassador said that Italy is committed to “supporting the security and stability of Iraq, and here I confirm that the stability of this country and the well-being of its people are in our interest,” adding that “Iraq is one of the important countries in the region, and if it is not stable, The whole region will not be stable.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, "We seek to strengthen relations between the two sides and seek to activate them in the fields of investment, trade, culture, agriculture and industry," noting that "agriculture is an important sector for Italy, as well as oil and gas, and for nearly two years the major Italian companies have been working on oil production in southern Iraq."[/size]
[size=45]He continued by saying that "Italy is seeking to strengthen its presence in Iraq and not to recede in the field of oil and gas, and to include other sectors."[/size]
[size=45]The ambassador also indicated that "the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Italy amounted to 5 million euros before the outbreak of Covid 19, and since last year we have learned to restore the atmosphere to normal in this field."[/size]
