    BAGHDAD -
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, demanded an urgent investigation into the incident of the attack by a security force on the demonstrators of the North Oil Company trainees in Kirkuk, while pledging to follow up the case to achieve their legitimate demands and justice.
The media office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, strongly condemned the incident of the attack by a security force in front of the Kirkuk governorate building on civilian demonstrators from the trainees of the North Oil Company who went out in a peaceful demonstration demanding their rights." He called on the Kirkuk Operations Command and the concerned authorities in the federal government to conduct an urgent investigation, reveal the circumstances of the accident, and hold the negligent to account, no matter who they are.
Abdullah expressed his regret for the unacceptable attack that took place in front of the Kirkuk governorate building, stressing that “peaceful demonstration is a legitimate right guaranteed by the constitution, and we do not accept any encroachment on any citizen in the country under any pretext,” while pledging to follow up the case to achieve the legitimate demands of these demonstrators. Redress them through legal means.
