(Today's Encyclopedia of News | [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) - The National News Center website quoted sources that the coordination framework ended its meeting by approving the nomination of Jaafar al-Sadr for the Iraqi prime minister.

The sources said that the framework ended its meeting by approving Jaafar al-Sadr as a candidate for prime minister.

Sources said that the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, contacted the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to confirm the approval of Jaafar al-Sadr's acceptance.

Jaafar al-Sadr is Iraq's ambassador to Britain.

Officials say that Jaafar al-Sadr's appointment as ambassador to Britain is a step taken by Muqtada al-Sadr because he realizes the extent of British influence in the decision to choose the prime minister in Iraq after 2003.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi wrote a farewell tweet in which he said, "We have performed the duty for which we were summoned."
